“Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.” – Genesis 2:19
At the beginning of every year, many servants of God come up with prophetic focus for the year for their various churches and denominations. Members are encouraged to believe God and pray in line with these declarations.
This is a great way to bring people to hear what God is saying. For example, God has laid it in my heart while praying that…
“This year will be our year of Rehoboth. We shall have victory over those things that strove with us in the past and we shall have room to excel in the land” – Genesis 26:22
It is important that we stand on these prophecies from time to time and make a good warfare. Paul told Timothy:
“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare” (1Timothy 1:18)
This is more like saying,
“Timothy, use the prophecies that you have heard and fight a good warfare. When things and situations arise to overwhelm you, just remember the prophecies and continue to declare and live according to them. That is the way to have victory”
This is a great way to exercise your faith to receive God’s promises for you at any time. But in addition to the prophetic declarations and confessions so far released that you have heard and accepted, it is also important for you to connect with the WORD of God and make your own decrees for your life, family and destiny.
As we fast and pray, ask God to show you a WORD to hold onto for your life and family this year. And then continue to speak the WORD of God over your life, family and destiny…not your past pains, failures and troubles. I tell people all the time…
I tell people all the time…
“You are your own greatest prophet!”
So find a WORD from God and join it with the prophecies so far released and begin to apply them to your life through meditations and bold declarations.
The battles and challenges you have faced are real, but more real is God’s Words and promises for Your life.
According to our text above, what Adam named all the animals became their names.
“So What you decree and declare this year to be for you is what God will cause it to be.”
Remember, “…As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say” (Numbers 14:28). So start speaking something good about the year. Don’t dwell on the thoughts of all your battles and defeats in the past. God is doing a new thing and you will perceive and know it.
