Reflection

Let me say this first. It may appear that we are slow, or that some of the teachings in the last five days are what you already know. But don’t worry. Continue to follow the instructions and continue to read and declare the prayers in the midnight, plus prayers the Lord puts in your heart. Also, continue to pray for others. We will definitely touch many areas of life and different issues in this prayer retreat.

And yes, the Word of God is new every day. So if we are discussing something you already know, try to go back to it and meditate on it. God will give you new ideas and inspirations as you do.

So let’s talk about these weapons we are praying with.

First, let me repeat that there is a severe spiritual fight going on against your marriage, health, family, children, and ministry. You don’t leave this battle up to God and say, “Well, I can’t do anything. Let the will of God be done.”

If there’s nothing we can do Paul wouldn’t bother telling us to wear our weapons of warfare. Who dresses for war and then sits down to play around? There would be no need to instruct people to dress for battle if there was no war going on. It’s as simple as ABC.

There is a spiritual war going on against you. That’s why you’re instructed to wear the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoe of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 

Let’s look at various instruments that God has provided for our deliverance, in addition to these weapons that the Apostle Paul talked about. These are specific tools and instruments we must know, trust and apply as we pray for deliverance from anything.

1. The Name of Jesus Christ

Praying in Jesus name means praying according to God’s will.

Philippians 2:8-11 – 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Mark 16:17-18 – And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

Acts 4:11-12 – This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

2. The Blood of Jesus Christ

The Blood of Jesus Christ is a powerful instrument for our deliverance. As we pray and plead the Blood of Jesus Christ we invoke God’s power to do all the far-reaching things His Word says He wants to do. By believing in the gift and power of the Blood of Jesus Christ and praying with it, we will see relationships healed, physical needs provided, finances restored, protection received, supernatural intervention occur, and many other things happen. God will always answer the Blood of Jesus Christ.

3. The Power of the Holy Communion

As for you also, by the blood of thy covenant, I have sent forth your prisoners out of the pit where there is no water (Zechariah 9:11)

The Blood of Jesus Christ is the seal of the new covenant. Under it, there’s nothing hidden that will not be made known. His Blood invokes our deliverance and establishes us in God’s presence.

While praying for deliverance, one way to spiritually disconnect yourself from all forms of evil covenants, evil activities and establish your union in the covenant of the Blood of Jesus Christ is continually using the symbol of the Holy Communion.

Then Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.’ – John 6:53

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. – 1 Cor. 11:26.

I encourage you to prepare the communion and take it every night after your prayers and use it to declare your freedom in Christ.

4. The Power of Declaring Scriptures

. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Word of God is our gun in prayer and spiritual warfare. When we release them, we send unstoppable bullets against the enemy, slay them, and obtain victory where necessary.

Don’t just pray for praying sake. Read the Word of God, meditate on it, and then pray them over the situations you need deliverance from.

Praying scriptures is the most powerful way to pray.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

The fuel of prayer is the Word of God. We remind God in our prayer what He has said and call Him to be faithful to His Word.

5. The Weapon of Faith

Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one (Eph. 6:14).

Faith is also a potent force in our spiritual warfare. That is why Paul said, “Above all, take the shield of faith.” Without faith we may pray and never obtain victory. As the scripture says, without faith we cannot please God.

Why is faith a weapon that we must, “above all, take?”

The answer is simple. Without faith, the enemy will hurt you.

You can pray all the prayers in this world, but if you don’t believe in your prayers, if you don’t believe that God is at work in your life, if you don’t believe that what you’re praying and commanding will happen, you’ll fall back to actions and words that cancel your prayers from time to time.

6. The Weapon of Fire

As I said earlier, fire is an instrument of judgment against the works of the wicked. As Elijah called down fire to judge the prophets of Baal, we can call down fire to judge negative threats that rise against our lives and family from time to time.

Fire has no respect for faces. Fire does not beg. Fire consumes. When fire attacks, you better stay off the way. When we pray, we can call down fire to judge the wicked and release our blessings.

6. The Power of the Anointing Oil

Is anyone sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And a prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. – James 5:14-15

Ministering to ourselves with anointing oil is something we should all learn to do from time to time.

The anointing oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit used for consecration, healing, and enthronement. As you pray for deliverance, always anoint yourself after a prayer session, and declare yourself dedicated and consecrated to the Lord. As a dedicated instrument to God, no demon has right over your life anymore.

Prayers

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You for the gift and work of the Blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You for the power available to us through the Holy Communion, the anointing oil, the Scriptures, faith and Your fire.

Indeed, Lord, You have given us everything we need for our freedom and deliverance. Be glorified forever and ever in Jesus name.

Thank You, Lord, for giving me boldness to come before Your throne of Grace to obtain help in time of need, through the Blood of Jesus Christ. I am not helpless, Lord, for You are my ever present help.

There is no more condemnation on me for the Blood of Jesus Christ is speaking on my behalf continually. For this I say, thank You, Lord, in Jesus name.

Today, O Lord, I put on the whole armor of God. I stand against the wiles of the enemy in my life and family. I declare them destroyed forever and ever, in Jesus name.

---

I gird my waist today with the truth of God’s infallible Word. I lay on the breastplate of righteousness and shod my feet with the gospel of peace.

I take the shield of faith and begin to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

I take the helmet of the assurance of my salvation in Christ, and attack, with the sword of the Spirit – which is the word of God – all agents of darkness carrying out evil against my life and family. I command them exposed, frustrated and exiled today, in Jesus name.

I call upon You Lord to baptize me with fresh fire from heaven. Reconnect me to the depth of Your Love and holiness. May I be consecrated to Thee O Lord, in Jesus name.

I charge myself in the fire of the Holy Spirit today, and take authority in the name of Jesus Christ over every evil decrees against my life, against my marriage, against my family, and against my ministry. I decree today that I and my family are saved, in the name of the LORD, in Jesus name.

Amen.
