Hi Beloved,
Welcome to the month of April.
Today, and in continuation of my last email on hearing the voice of God for yourself, I want to talk about 5 Ways to Activate the Gift of Discernment. This is a very powerful scriptural guide that will change your life.
But before I go into that, I’ve got an exciting prophetic word for you this month.
The Holy Spirit gave me these words and I want you to receive them in agreement and faith.
The Lord says,
“If you will wait on me and hear from me, this will be your season of divine visitation. Every miracle that has begun in your life will be completed. The things you found very difficult to do and resolve will be done and resolved supernaturally. You will find a way where there is no way before, and helpers will manifest in your life.”
And we say, “Amen.”
Beloved, I am very excited about this prophetic word. And as I posted on my Facebook page, a new season is being birthed in the spirit from the month of April. Expect strange visitations and miracles.
Yes, I am seeing deliverances, debt cancellations, new jobs, interventions in court cases, healings, and restorations.
Please say this prayer before we proceed…
“Father, Lord, may my life become a living witness of Your Word in this season of supernatural visitations. Touch my heart and set it on fire for You. Help me by Your Spirit to be ready to receive every promise You have ordained for me this season. Reveal every change I must make in my life right now. Show me steps I must take and things or persons I must release from my heart. I will receive Your deliverance, healing, and open doors in this season, in Jesus name.”
Amen. And Amen.

Let’s continue on our text for this month.
THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT
Without the gift of discernment, we will make lots of mistakes, buy many wrong things, attend all kinds of wrong gatherings/churches, and accept all kinds of false teachings and prophecies.
Without the gift of discernment, we will expose ourselves to many dangers, hurt ourselves in wrong relationships, and work/walk with all kinds of wrong people.
The gift and ability to discern are needed in our lives now more than ever. Without that ability, we will end up as victims to demonic miracle workers and witches and wizards.
The Apostle Paul prayed two prayers for the believers in Philippi: That their love may grow in knowledge and insight, and that they may have the ability to discern what is…

- pure
- blameless
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ – Philippians 1:9-10 (NIV).
Look at that. If they are not able to discern, they will not be able to live pure and blameless lives.
This is a serious prayer that all Christians must learn to pray every day, even in these last days.
WE HAVE ONLY ONE LIFE
We have only one life, and we cannot spend it on trial and error, and regrets. We must live it in a fulfilling journey of following God and carrying out His assignments for our lives. And one way to avoid many hurts, setbacks, and regrets in this world is to develop our discerning ability.
Yes, God always heals us of every damage in our lives – emotional, physical, or spiritual – there is healing for every damage. But it’s always better to prevent damages than seeking to heal them.
Without a discerning ability, you will make many costly mistakes in your life choices, plans, relationships, and career paths. As a result, you will unwittingly bring yourself to the point of hurt and pain many times. And that’s not what God wants for your life.
Before every man, there lies a wide and pleasant road that seems right but ends in death. – Prov 14:12 (TLB)
The writer of Proverbs repeats this same observation verbatim in Proverbs 16:25.
In the law of the spirit, repetition is a sign of importance and urgency. When a matter (dream, vision, direction) is repeated to you twice, thrice, or more, then it is critical. You must pay attention.
When Scripture commands one thing twice, thrice, or more, then it’s a serious issue.
Our plans, relationships, ideas, and conclusions are always excellent in our eyes. But many times, they can be a trap to our destinies and lives.
Not all relationships, offers, businesses, and open doors are from God. Some are traps.
For example, Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was hungry. Boom! Satan comes with an intelligent way to get food. He tempted Jesus with the very thing Jesus needed most at that time.
Satan still does that today. He always tempts or tries to trap us with the very same things our lives are craving.
If your most pressing desire is a husband, satan will try to trap you with a relationship. The only way to overcome this trap is with a discerning ability.
If your most pressing problem is hunger, satan may want to trap you with food. He will bring offers that compromise on integrity and the love of God. He will tell you it doesn’t matter. But, unfortunately, if the source of the food (that is, breakthrough, love, money) is from the devil, it will not nourish your body; it will only lead to destruction.
If your most pressing desire is deliverance, satan will come with some deliverance offers. He will bring people who will sell you a deliverance that is not based in the name of Jesus Christ. Sometimes the offer may look good, but the details and contents are indirect traps.
Don’t forget this: Just because something solves your immediate pressing problem does not mean it is right for you.
The fact that you are under pressure to get something done and an opportunity presents itself does not mean that the opportunity is the right one.
Saul was under pressure, and people advised him to offer the sacrifice. He did, and that was his undoing.
Genuinely desire a reactivation of your discerning ability because that’s the only way you will overcome many hidden plots of the devil, of men, and of the world. That’s the only way to know when a love opportunity, a job offer, a money offer, a prophecy offer, whatever, is of the devil and not of God.
WHAT IS DISCERNING OF SPIRIT?
Discernment of spirits is the ability to understand and distinguish between the operation of the human spirit, wicked spirit, deceiving spirit, lying spirits, and the operation of God’s Spirit. It is the ability to discern intentions and protect yourself from falling victim to either human or spiritual wickedness.
Not all prophecies are from God. Not all teachings are from God. Not all manifestations are from God. Many are from the devil, with a willful intent to deceive and harm.
Not all breakthroughs are from God. Not all gifts are from God. Not all help is from God. Some are camouflage designed to trap and destroy one’s destiny.
With an ability to discern, you will be able to, by the Holy Spirit, judge activities, prophecies, teachings, and manifestations that are meant to lure someone away. You will be able to know when to reject offers, breakthroughs, love, relationships, and seemingly good things that are designed to trick and destroy.
You will know, deep inside of you, without a shadow of a doubt, whether someone, an idea, an operation, or a proposal is from God or not. Then you will be able to protect yourself, expose, and guide others properly.
WHY DEVELOP YOUR DISCERNING ABILITY?
=> To protect yourself from lying spirits, fake and wasteful relationships
=> To protect yourself from demonic spirits’ operations that come in the guise of the Holy Spirit’s operations.
=> To protect yourself from false preachers, prophets, and seers.
=> To protect others within your influence from becoming a victim of satanic manipulations.
=> To understand your times and seasons. To know when changes, movements, or waits must be done in your life.
HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR DISCERNING ABILITY
1. Don’t Be in Haste or Under Pressure.
Every time there is haste in you, watch it. Every time something requires you to do it now, otherwise, you will miss it, be careful. You may be out of faith.
The Bible says:
=> Isaiah 28:16 ESV – “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste.’
=> Proverbs 19:2 ESV – Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.
2. Acknowledge God in all Situations
My wife has taught me that we can and must acknowledge God in all things. I mean, in everything. A simple, heartfelt prayer made in your heart without saying it out before discussing, finalizing, or accepting something can work wonders and protect you and others.
Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart, rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. – Proverbs 3:5-6 (Passion Translation)
3. Check the Witness in Your Spirit
Everyone is saying, “Pastor, I don’t hear the voice of God.”
But the truth is that God never leaves us without direction. The Holy Spirit will always try to correct us, stop us, or encourage us to proceed in something. He will leave a red alert check in your spirit, make you uncomfortable, make you lose your peace, and make you troubled for no reason when something is wrong.
Now, it doesn’t matter who is bringing the offer and what it is. Once this red alert check is there in your spirit, stay away. That’s God trying to protect you.
On the other hand, He will give you peace, a peace that you cannot explain why you have such a peace when something is right. That’s Him telling you that everything will be fine. The physical events may say otherwise, but once that peace is there, deep inside you, forget the physical events. God is in control. That’s His direction.
For instance, on May 19, 2021, my mother-in-law was kidnapped by terrorists. At the same time, on the same day, my wife went into the theater for child delivery. There was so much confusion and noise on the outward, but deep inside me, I felt something rejecting the noise and confusion. I felt peace deep within me.
Even though there was trouble in the physical, deep within me, God was telling me that everything would be fine. And within 48 hours, everything calmed. I prayed, yes. But not out of fear and worry. There was an assurance in me even though the physical events didn’t say that.
Watch out for that red alert check in your spirit – it means don’t go on. Be careful. Stop. Retreat. Disengage. Wait. Stay away, etc.
And also watch out for God’s peace and calm sense in your spirit – it means proceed. Or relax. All will be well.
4. Monitor your visions and dreams
Though many of your dreams will come in symbols, parables, and images that you won’t understand immediately, but never undermine them.
I have taught a lot about dreams and visions. Get my books on hearing the voice of God and Listening Prayer and learn about your dreams. Through them, God can bring you guidance about a relationship or something you are about to do.
5. Get Feedback and counseling from mature believers
Your plans will fall apart right in front of you if you fail to get good advice. But if you first seek out multiple counselors, you’ll watch your plans succeed (Proverbs 15:22 Passion Translation).
Before you go full length in something, seek counsel from one or two other mature believers and pray with them. Sometimes, others can see what you cannot see when you are involved.
I pray today that your ability to discern will be amplified in Jesus’ name.
PRAYERS TO COMMAND THE MONTH OF APRIL
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of another month, the month of April. Thank You for Your protection and provision. Thank You for keeping us safe and not allowing the will of the devil to prevail over our lives and families. May Your Name be glorified forever and ever, in Jesus’ name.
In this month of April, Father, empower me to walk before You in holiness and purity. Uproot from my heart every seed of impure thoughts that lead to speaking defiled words and acting wrongly. Make me Your vessel empowered for good works throughout this month and beyond, in Jesus’ name.
I decree today that I am a vessel of gold, created for honorable purposes. I am empowered for good works that God prepared for me even before I was born. I will walk in God’s will for my life every day, in Jesus name.
Today, O Lord, I come against every invisible barrier the enemy has raised against Your plans and promises for my life. I come against every attack on my health, finances, and my family; I declare them terminated today, in Jesus name
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I command all the barricades, obstacles, and hindrances that the devil has raised against my family and me, preventing us from accessing our financial breakthrough; I command them to be destroyed today, in Jesus name.
May all spiritual and physical barriers against the doors God has opened for me and my family be shattered today in the name of Jesus Christ.
Today, I come against every demonic opposition in my workplace. I come against every demonic conflict in my family. I come against every evil attack and plantation in my home and marriage; I end them today, in Jesus name.
I command every power assigned to fight and delay my blessing, breakthrough, and promotion to become paralyzed and destroyed today, in Jesus name.
From this day forward, I begin to receive the manifestation of my financial breakthroughs, supernatural connections and promotion, a peace that passes understanding, and speedy advancement, in Jesus name.
I put an end to every form of stagnation and delay in my life henceforth, in Jesus name.
Every ancient demonic barrier raised in my family, be destroyed today in Jesus name.
In this new month…
I shall be guided in everything I set out to do
I shall enjoy supernatural harvests
I shall recover everything the enemy has stolen from me.
I shall excel in all that I do.
I shall advance in God’s will and purpose for my life.
I shall advance and make unusual progress in all areas.
I shall dwell in God’s presence every day of my life.
Good news will surround me
There shall be no loss
In Jesus’ name.
In this season and month of resurrection,
I will arise and shine, for my light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon me.
Even where darkness prevail and gross darkness the people, the LORD Jesus Christ shall arise upon me, and His Glory shall be seen in my life and family.
People will see the Goodness of God in my life and family and praise God with me.
