It’s our month of kindness. We highly recommend that you find ways to be a blessing to others this month.
Whatever you are today, whatever you have received today, and whatever you will become tomorrow, is out of God’s kindness. It is therefore required of you to extend this grace to others.
Our confession for this month says:
I am alive to be a blessing. I am called to be a blessing. I am blessed to be a blessing.
Constantly remind yourself that you’re called to be a blessing. But more importantly, step out this month and be a blessing to others without expecting anything in return. Remember…
God’s kind of kindness is to be tenderhearted, compassionate, benevolent and useful to others. It is to forgive others and be willing to help them find God’s love and help in their times of need – not looking at their faults.
This month, let God express Himself through your words and actions to bring peace, healing, deliverance, direction, and help to others, no matter how bad we feel they are.
The Power of Praying for Others
One of the most powerful ways you can express God’s kind of kindness this month is to genuinely pray for others. As the scripture we read above says, when Job prayed for his friends, God healed and restored him.
If you are a follower of this ministry, you’ll know that I strongly believe that taking our attention away from our personal needs and spending the time to pray for others – from time to time – is one of the greatest commandments of answered prayers.
When we temporarily look away from our own personal needs and worries, we are able to see that the world does not revolve around our problems. We are able to see that, though we have problems, there are hundreds of others we are better than. We find encouragement and strength in our situations and our compassion and faith levels are raised to God’s level.
I read a prayer request one day and it broke my heart. The request read something like this…
…”We traveled for vacation, and our 8-year old son lost in that country. Since then our lives have been broken. But we believe God for our son coming back. Please pray with us.”
Okay, that’s not the exact words of the prayer request. But it’s within that context.
You can’t see a request like this and your own small needs will still remain an issue. And every day we read and hear devastating situations like this.
Let us therefore look away from our personal circle of needs from time to time and see the world from the situations of others, and take the responsibility to sow prayer seeds or otherwise to these situations.
I challenge you to give the gift of prayer for others all through this month, coupled with any other acts of kindness that are within your ability, and see God fight your personal battles.
You Never Go Down By Helping Others
This is a principle we teach in our office, home and ministry…
You never go down by lifting others.
You may not be able to give money always, but there’s something you can give.
You can give your time; you can give sincere intercession; you can give sincere attention, you can give the gift of forgiveness, etc.
I know you have your own personal issues that need urgent divine intervention. God knows that too. But look away from these personal issues for some time and show compassion to others through earnest prayers or otherwise.
As you genuinely pray for others, and extend God’s kindness, expect a supernatural turn around from heaven.
As the scripture says, when Job prayed for his friends, God restored all his fortunes.
Read, Meditate, and Internalize
Philippians 2:3-4 – Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
Acts 7:60 – Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.
1 Timothy 2:1 – I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.
James 5:16 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
Who Do You Pray For?
Just sit down and make notes of people you know their names going through one tribulation or the other. You’ll realize that you have a lot of people to pray for. There are many who need healing, marital restoration, salvation, etc.
You may also visit this page to read and pray from the hundreds of prayer requests we receive daily. You may not know these people, but God knows them. As you specifically and genuinely spend time praying for them, God’s power is released, not just in their lives, but also in yours.
